All Yeas MC Motion Post Support Barnum Accept the bills as added to, Elhorn for $360.10, out of water fund. RCV All Yeas MC Motion Barnum Support Post Accept the Treasurers report pending audit. All Yeas MC DPW report was given. Police report was given. Public Comments Dan Bannister, Shiawassee Twp. Fire Chief, reported that the Twp. has hired new firefighters and is still looking to hire more. Discussion was held on the Emergency Siren. The power was out and the battery backup was dead, so they could not set off the siren the night of the tornado warning. They have installed a better radio in the Fire trucks, and are getting a new battery, so that there will be 3 ways to set off the siren in the future. The siren will only sound for a tornado warning in the immediate area. He also gave the Ordinance Committee a proposed “Amended” Burning Ordinance. August 12, 2015 minutes continued Pg 2 Sally Labadie would like to use the Village Hall from 2pm-4pm on September 19, 2015 for the Historical Society. Unfinished Business: 1. President, Johnson has estimates for cleaning the inside of the water tower. Tom reported that he has done some repairs to the exterior of the water tower and is waiting on paint to finish. Motion Barnum Support Post Accept the bid from NTEC, to drain & clean the water tower at a cost of $2100.00. RCV Yeas-All Absent: Bible, Goodrich, R. Miller MC 2. People from Badger are coming in the morning, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 9:30a.m. to help get the problem fixed. New Business: 1. Squad car computer is working. Need to download office 10. 2 Discussion held on keeping Website and Facebook responses under control. 3. Master plan review tabled till September meeting. 4. Credit card resolution discussed, President will look into getting a debit card for the Village. 5. Tires for squad car tabled till September when Barnum has estimates. 6. Discussion held on non profit use of Village hall for free, without the $30.00 deposit. Council will amend rental policy next month. 7. Discussion held on renting the Village hall in the winter. Clerk will find minutes when it was discussed to determine when Council decided on cut off dates. 8. Alley Maintenance Procedures will go to the Infrastructure Committee. 9. Amend budget for Garbage savings transferred to Police Salary. Tabled till September, President will have to look into the legalities. 10. DPW will get more bids for the tree trimming in the Village. Motion Barnum Support Post DPW get 2 more bids for tree removal, have Robinson’s update their bid, accept the lowest bid at or below $750.00. RCV: Yeas-All Absent: Bible, Goodrich, R. Miller. MC 11. Barnum has a new recommendation for use of the bulletin board. The left half will be for the Village of Bancroft’s use and the right half for the Community use. If you want something posted drop it in box on office door and Village President will post it. President reported that the next Ordinance Committee meeting will be August 19, 2015 at 7pm. DPW asks what he is supposed to do with the wood on village property. President will make up a waiver for anyone interested in taking the wood. Council woman Post leaves at 9:15 pm.
